A long walk or cycle through the countryside is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and explore the local area. Bring along a long a picnic, or stop off for a pub lunch along the way to refresh and refuel. Take a camera and binoculars with you too, so you can snap some pictures of the lovely scenery, and spot some wildlife on your walk. Our birdwatching guides can help you know what to look for!

If you are an avid shooter, then this Bank Holiday is the perfect time to have a relaxing shoot with friends, allowing you to socialise with fellow shooters and catch up on shooting news – particularly as the new season has just begun.

The longer weekend is also a great opportunity to take a last minute camping break. Pack up your tent, or find a glamping site and have a chilled weekend with family and friends. A weekend away from the hustle and bustle of daily life could be just what you need, and give you the chance to do something different, especially if you are not an avid camper. You can stay up late to watch the stars, have a mini barbeque or seek out an secluded wild swimming spot.

For those who want to spend the weekend at home, then why not have a garden party for friends and family? String up some cheerful bunting, fire up the grill for a barbeque – even using some game meat to add a twist to what is being served – and make some fruity cocktails and mocktails for any children. A garden party will get you outdoors in the sunshine, but keep everything low key for the weekend.
